The purpose and function of the Cultural Values and Research Unit (CVRU) is, first and foremost, to serve the Bunurong Community, Bunurong Country and Bunurong Culture.

The Cultural Values and Research Unit (CVRU) provides services pertaining to Bunurong cultural values, language, community engagement, cultural landscapes and design. The CVRU comprises four portfolios, each of which are responsible for providing different key services. These four portfolios are:

We acknowledge the Bunurong people of the Kulin Nation, who are the Traditional Owners of the land where we gather today and pay my respects to Elders past and present.  We recognise their continued connection to Country and their role in caring for and maintaining Country and waterways over thousands of generations. Tread lightly on this land, it holds all our stories of our Grandmothers and Grandfathers and spiritual connections to Country. May their strength and wisdom be with us today."
